The exercise lists included here are those that I learned from Jay Grimes and the wonderful teachers of The Work at Vintage Pilates and from Romana's students. There are other important Pilates elders and master teachers and I believe that it is important we learn what from all of them. The order of exercises for the Mat and the Reformer have changed slightly over time, but remain relatively the same.

Why is learning the order of exercises important?

  • to flow from one exercise to the next in order to engage the whole body continuously

  • to learn how the exercises fit together as a system of movement

  • to progress quickly and learn new exercises and variations

  • to become a confident and autonomous
